5th grade students and their parents are invited to take part in First Communion Preparation Classes on Feb. 12 and Feb. 19 6:30-7:30. We will celebrate First Communion together as a class on Feb. 22 at the 10:30 worship service.

Ash Wednesday / Lent

Lent begins at the end of this month, on February 25. It’s a time to deepen our faith and refresh our spirits in a focused way so that the awesome meaning of Easter can transform our lives anew. We begin on Ash Wednesday with the ancient rite of Imposition of Ashes. We come before God in all humility, aware both of our fleeting insignificance in the universe but also trusting in the inexplicable love of God revealed to us in Jesus Christ.

On Wednesday evenings, March 4 – April 1, we will continue our Lenten journey at 6:30pm services following supper at 5pm. Jesus gave us an amazing guide for our lifelong journey into God’s kingdom – the Lord’s Prayer. We often say these words by heart, but in the Wednesday of Lent we will explore their deeper meaning.
