Join Us for Vacation Bible School!
Exploring the Mighty Love of God
August 3rd through August 6th
11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Students may come to the church directly from summer school. Lunch will be provided.
3 and 4 year old are invited to join us on Friday Aug 6th from 11:30 to 3:30
Do you have a captains wheel, fishing nets, a treasure chest or other items that could be borrowed to help decorate for a Ship theme? Please contact Deb or any member of the Education committee if you can help.
We are in need of people to help set up and decorate, crew leaders (those who travel with small groups), a teacher for the movie room, help with the 3 & 4 year olds on Friday, students who will help lead songs and teach motions and clean up crews. Please contact Deb, the church office, or any Education committee members
Please fill out a Registration form and return to the Church Office. Alternatively, you can fill out the registration form below. Once submitted, your registration will be emailed to Deb Householder.
Palm Sunday Breakfast Buffet

Please join us in the fellowship hall on March 28 for a breakfast buffet.
We will be serving from 8:00 a until 11:00 am.
The cost will be $5.00 for adults and students $3.00. Kids not yet in school eat free.
All proceeds help send our youth to Bible Camp. Please help this worthy cause!

The Youth will be collecting loose change in soup pots after both services. Join them in the fight against hunger!
Kids Club Corner
Students are excused from worship at about 9:15 to go downstairs. Parents, please join us for treats and fellowship when you come to pick up your students at 10:15. Please check the bulletin board downstairs for the rotation schedule and important dates.
UPDATE: We are excited to be able to share a song with the congregation on Feb 7 at 9:00. With the hlp of Ruth Christianson, we have been learning Silent Night in Spanish. This song fits with our Birth of Jesus rotation.
The pre-school kids will also share a song.
We are collecting items for health kits to send to Lutheran World Relief. We will Bless those during worship. This is our way of helping the people of Haiti in memory of Ben Larson.
Our next rotation will begin Feb. 14. We will learn about Holy Week and Easter.
TAG – Talking About God

Our 6th grade youth group is called T.A.G. – Talking About God! Students may arrive after school and we will be finished at about 5:00. I always provide a snack for the group before we begin our lesson. Some of our time is spent here at church with part of our time being spent in service to the Community.
T.A.G. is a mid-week class designed specifically for 6th graders as a bridge into confirmation. We will meet every other Wednesday starting again on Jan 6th. (If school is canceled because of weather, we would not meet).
UPDATE: T.A.G. students have begun their adventure of reading the Picture Bible. We will meet on Feb 3 to take our first quiz. After our quiz, we will put health kits together for Kids Club.
With the busy season of Lent beginning on Feb 17, we have decided to meet Sunday mornings through March 14. On April 14, we will go back to our Wednesday after-school schedule. By April 28th, our 6th graders should be done reading the entire Bible!
JAM – Jesus and Me

J.A.M. is open to all 3rd through 5th grade students. Students are encouraged to bring a friend. You need not be a member of Zion to participate in J.A.M – all are welcome!
We do a variety of activities. Many do require driving somewhere. If you would be available to help drive now and then, please call Deb. Also if anyone is interested in helping with treats or being a J.A.M. helper, be sure to let her know!
J.A.M. meets every other Wednesday. Students can be picked up at 5:00.
UPDATE: J.A.M. students met for the last time until after Easter. We watched a movie that brought a wonderful message about how to treat each other and not to judge on outward appearance but to look at the inside. J.A.M. will resume on April 7th. We will take a field trip to Winona. We will be later than usual, so parents can pick up students at 6:00pm. If you can help drive please call Deb.

Confirmation will resume on Wed. Jan 6 at 6:00 pm. We remind students that they will take their test on Faith then we will begin our new section on Service. Youtherans

Youtherans will continue to lead worship on the 3rd Sunday each month through the school year. We will be helping in leadership roles at the 9:00 service. Seniors will be asked to help on Jan 17th. Thanks for your willingness to help.
Children’s Christmas program

This year’s Children’s Christmas Program, “Christmas from Scratch,” will be performed Saturday, December 19 at 5:00 pm, followed by a Soup & Bread Supper in the Fellowship Hall. Please plan to attend and encourage our young children.
There will be practice on Saturday, December 12 from 1 to 3 pm, so please plan to be there .
Rally Sunday / Kid’s Club

We of course will need help with the education of our young people this year – PLEASE consider helping! We are seeking new members for the Education Committee.
Kids Club, J.A.M., T.A.G., M.U.G.S., and High school Youth are all in need of your help.

- Student will share songs from Vacation Bible School.
- All students should bring their backpacks to worship.
